Certification Requirements
To become an eMINTS certified teacher you must complete the two-year eMINTS Comprehensive professional development program and teach in a classroom that meets the instructional technology requirements specified by the eMINTS program for at least one full school year. The elapsed time for meeting both criteria may not exceed two full school years unless formally approved by the eMINTS National Center office.

eMINTS teachers are added to the eMINTS database upon verification that they meet program criteria. Verification in the database provides official eMINTS teachers with the following privileges and resources:

- Two-year program (250 contact hours) including 9-10 classroom visits per year.
- Clearly defined set of professional development experiences with a specific scope and sequence
- Participants use a set of materials maintained in a web-access controlled environment.
- Satisfactory completion of eMINTS PD is defined as attendance at no less than 80% of the professional development sessions offered unless there are valid medical or other reasons for a lower attendance rate. Makeup sessions used for required attendance hours must follow the makeup session policy. Participants who choose to sponsor after-school activities or coach should not expect that professional development sessions will be made up.

- Membership on eMINTS discussion list(s)
- Authorization to make requests for new eThemes resource topics
- Consent to enroll in eMINTS graduate credit arrangements associated with eMINTS PD (additional educational fees required from participants).
